    Hi folks,

I have just setup a backup SSID for our remote sites that use RAPs.  I have got this working and configured as expected.  My only issue with this is I want to name the backup SSID the same name and password as the SSID which broadcasts when the controller is up.  The reason for doing this is in the event that the AP loses connectivity to the controller and the Backup SSID starts to broadcast that the machines automatically connect to the backup without having to manually connect to a new SSID.  Is this not possible because I keep getting error: :Error: Duplicate ESSID ?

    Thanks

You can't name the backup SSID the same.  It is designed to be different.

What you can do is use the remote AP "always" or "persistent"  http://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_6_5_4_X_Web_Help/Web_Help_Index.htm#ArubaFrameStyles/Remote_AP/Advanced_Configuration_O1.htm?Highlight=persistent
