Can VRRP setup be in 2 separate locations

    I want to setup master/standby (3000 series fw) but have one at one location and the standby in another.. diff subnets, diff locations, will this work?

    Nope. VRRP is a layer-2 only feature. All devices sharing a VIP have to be in the same layer-2 domain.

    You can use LMS and backup LMS in the AP system profile for redundancy across L3 domains.

    VRRP only works if both controllers are in the same L2 setup.

     

    You have to options:

    - LMS IP / Backup LMS

    - Fast Failover if you have 6.3 and up
