Can an AP-65 function as a cert-based RAP?

    Hello,

     

    Quick question - can an AP-65 function as a cert-based RAP (authorised using the RAP cert whitelist by MAC address)?

     

    I'm guessing it can't as there's no cert to authorise and whenever I try to flip one to remote AP mode by reprovisioning, it flips back to campus mode.

     

    If this is the case, is there a table somewhere that gives the limitations of operating modes and APs?

     

    FWIW, I'm running ArubaOS 6.2.1.2.

    No, legacy APs, including the AP-65 cannot operate as Cert-based RAPs.  

     

    I am not aware any specific matrix that spells out which APs support Cert based vs. PSK based authentication; but legacy APs including the AP-65 and AP-70 do not.

    Thanks both - that confirms things as I expected.

     

    We have lots of AP-65s running as username/password/IKEPSK RAPs but we're switching over to cert-based RAPs, so I just wanted to check.  [Actually, they're running as RAPs for legacy reasons and we'll probably just convert them to CAPs using switch-based CERTs.]

    No, AP 65 doesnt have a TPM module so it cannot be provisioned as Cert-based RAP.

     

    AP models like 105`s, 93, 125, 121, 124, RAP 2, RAP3, RAP 5, AP 225, contains TPM module and legacy AP`s like 65`s, 61`s, 70`s doesnt have a TPM module and doesnt support cert based RAP.
