Can not reprovision AP with older image until it upgrades!

    Hi All,

     

    I having a problem of reprovision the AP. Because on the Aruba controller dashboard console, status for the AP 175 was unprovision and every 2 to 3 minutes keep on reboot actually this AP 175 was already provision and able to report back to controller. Aruba controller running 6.1.3.4, I have try to upgrade the firmware to 6.1.3.7 but the problem still the same.  I have attach the screenshot of the error message.

    Type "show log system 50" and see if it has any information about that AP.

    Problem solved. My customer told me that, is they switch problem.

    How done problem solved ? On controller 6.4.2.6 v running but same problem appear ( AP 205 )

    ersinerol,

     

    Does the access point say "upgrading" when you go to provision it?  You should let it sit for at least 10 minutes to make sure it is completed upgrading.

    I am using AP installation wizard. At the end of this problem appear ( Attached PNG file)

    Can you wait 10 minutes until it upgrades?

     

    Try to go to Configuration> Wireless> AP Installation.  See if the access point has something in the "Flags" or "Status" column to indicate what is happening.

    Unprovisioned and Inactive.

    From the screenshot, it looks like your AP's Group is misspelled.  I would reprovision it and put it in the correct group.

    Thank you Colin.

     

    I attached 2 PNG files. AP Group normally selected but under AP IP address diffent appear and i can not edit this tab. How can i fix it ?

    Did you click on the "Apply and Reboot" button in the lower right corner?

    Try to provision it to the "Default" AP group and see if it changes.

    Hi all,

     

    I tried to do factory_reset but after booting latest configuration on AP.What can be root couse of this ?

     

    apboot> factory_reset
    apboot> purgeenv
    apboot> save
    apboot> boot

    You should open a TAC case.  It could be a hardware issue.

    Hi Bazli,

     

    Please upgrade the controller partition to the same OS again to remove that error.

    Hi ,

     

    As listed in the screenshot, partition 1 on your controller is running on 6.3.1.6.

     

    We need to upgrade this partition with 6.3.1.6 as well.

     

    Do you have the 6.3.1.6 firmware file for your controller ?

     

    The TFTP server IP will be the IP address of your local TFTP server on which the firmware file is placed.

     

    Please provide the model number of your controller so that I can let you the name of the file that needs to be downloaded.

    Hi ,

     

    Please download the firmware for your controller using the following link:

     

    https://support.arubanetworks.com/DownloadSoftware/tabid/75/DMXModule/510/EntryId/13978/Default.aspx

     

    It requires you login to the Aruba support site for downloading the firmware.

     

    1. Is this a new controller  or one which is already in use?

    2. What is the model number of AP's present on this controller.

     

    Please refer to the release notes for the firmwar eversion to make sure it supports the AP model numbers that you have.

    - Not new..this is already purchase and use since 2014. Suddently the error appear.

    2. What is the model number of AP's present on this controller.

    Hi,

     

    Please login in to controller's CLI via SSH & execute the following commands:

     

    show version

    show ap database

    show ap image version

     

    is the controller running on 6.3 versions since 2014 ?

    Hi ,

     

    Please download the firmware from Aruba Support site & upgrade the controller in order to resolve this issue.
