Can you execute ping remotely from the mobility controller via SNMP

I would like to know if there are MIBS that allow me to execute a "ping <ip> command from the controller via regular snmp write

Unfortunately the controller does not allow SNMp writes. It does have an XML-API, but that does not allow ping. Can you ping from the other device to the controller?

Re: Can you execute ping remotely from the mobility controller via SNMP

Hi Joseph,

I wanted to ping the APs from the controller and wanted to automate this task using snmp calls via script. Anyway if its not possible via snmp, ill have to do the ping from another host..

The APs and controller "ping" each other using heartbeats and the controller marks an AP "down" if it has not responded with a heartbeat in 8 to 16 seconds.
