Cannot get AP to work in a particular location

    Hey guys, hoping someone can help me with this puzzling problem.

     

    I am a network admin for a high school, and on campus I have an aruba 3200 controller and 19  93H access points. Now, every single one of my APs works on campus but this summer I added 6 more to my 6 portables (went from 13 to 19 APs). 5 of the 6 portables work fine with the 93H AP that I put in. But the 6th one, the one furthest from the switch, just power cycles the AP. Now if I take the AP and hook it up somewhere else on campus (including one of the other portables) it boots just fine.

    Just to clarify - both logs are essentially the same until it attempts to get an IP address. Then DHCP times out if I'm in the portable, but not if I'm basically anywhere else (I've tried it like 10 other places, all worked fine, including another portable). However, if I'm in this portable and I hook the same line up to the computer DHCP resolves fine and it gets an IP address. I can ping anywhere on campus from the computer in the portable, including the controller (10.0.2.80) and do an nslookup on aruba-master that resolves correctly. I'm at my wits end. Any ideas?

    The second location is not providing DHCP:

     

    DHCP timed out...

    Check the switchport for that location.  If you can get an ip address with the laptop, but not the AP, that would generally indicate a problem with the tagging.

    I've tried setting a static IP - the AP just isn't able to connect to anything (times out trying to find aruba-master OR the IP for the controller, either setting). But the computer can - I can go to the web gui for the controller from the computer on the same.

     

    Michael - I'll check the tagging. Maybe it is an issue, thanks.

    controller is in same vlan as AP when setting the IP address statically?

    did you set master also statticaly; if not in same vlan?
