Cannot ping AP's post enabling CPsec

all,

 

i turned on control plane security the other day and post this i cannot ping an AP from a conputer - the controller can Ping all AP's no issues

 

thoughs?

Well. If I understand this right your problem is probably because with CPSec you create a IPSec tunnel between the controller and the APs

The AP will have an outer IP which terminates the tunnell and an inner IP which terminates everything like an AP without CPsec turned on.

So probably you are trying to ping the wrong address?

And I am not sure if the controller will allow the ping through to the correct address?

i am pinging the DHCP address of the wired interface of the AP as i cannot see any other IP address to ping.

 

the issue is we use a ping monitor to report AP's down

In the Aruba monitoring interface on the Access Points list, you have a column for inner ip and a column for outer ip. Do you see the addresses there?

Nope there is no inner IP address
