Certificate Errors

Hi,

I've installed a Comodo certificate on my Aruba 3600 for WebUI and Captive Portal.  It works ok when accessing the WebUI in IE but in Firefox I get the error:
aruba-master.xyz.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

That's ok as I can just add an exception but the real issue is with the Captive Portal.

With Android I can accept the error but Safari gives the error:
Cannot Verify Server Identity: Wi-Fi cannot verify the identity of "aruba-master.xyz.com"

and won't let me go any further.  I've installed the intermediate certificates that came with the server certificate AddTrustExternalCARoot and ComodoSSL as IntermediateCA types with PEM as the Certificate Format but the problem persists.

I fond another user with the problem but no apparent solution:

Anybody got any ideas?

Re: Certificate Errors

hi RonanOC,

please check the following option in the Captive Portal Authentication Profile:

Use HTTP for
authentication

it would help you.

good luck.

Re: Certificate Errors

Hi Abi,

Yes that would stop the error occurring but I need to use https to encrypt the traffic.  I found the solution.  You need to create a certificate bindle with all the certs and upload that.  It is working now.
