Client de-authenticated multiple times

I've got a client which keeps getting deauthenticted by the network for, as far as i can see, no good reason. Everything appears in order, but every now and again it reports it's re-joining the network. A packet capture revealed the network is sending a deauth packet (+ about 9 re-transmissions)!  Any idea what might be causing this?

I'm thinking that i could turn on user-debugging to attempt to troubleshoot, but are there specific things I should be looking for?

Re: Client de-authenticated multiple times

- What client and wireless card?

- What version of ArubaOS?

- What encryption?

- What access points are you using?

Re: Client de-authenticated multiple times

Hi there,

It's a Smamsung GT-I9300, running Android 4.1.2.

It's generally connecting @ 5GHz (band steered),, 40MHz channel width.

Connecting with 802.1x

Aruba OS version 6.3.1.2

AP is an AP-125.

Re: Client de-authenticated multiple times

Thank you.

Is Client Match on?  If so, you should execute the commands below to see how many access points can see that client, as well as see why that client is moving around.

show ap virtual-beacon-report client-mac <mac address of client>
show ap client trail-info <mac address of client>

Re: Client de-authenticated multiple times

It's not moving - just reconnecting to the same AP.

Airwave has a big log of band-steers, but no sticky-client matches, at least when it's in the location which experiences issues. (Actually, I wonder if it does it elswhere on the WLAN).

Those commands are really usful! Definitely ones to remember.

Are we able to configure the number of items which are kept in the trail? (I'm guessing 10 the default).

I'll need to carry them out next time I know that the user is sat in one place - the output of those commands indicates he's on the move :)

Re: Client de-authenticated multiple times

We cannot configure the number of items kept, unfortunately.

If you have Density, you might want to work with 20mhz channels on the 5ghz for more channel reuse on the 5ghz band...
