Re: Client disconnect issue

You might be disconnecting him, but he might just be reassociating right back to the network.

Click on the debug button and then click on disconnect button.  Then go back to the debug button to see what is happening.

Re: Client disconnect issue

Hi Friend,

How can you say it is disconnected or not ? are you able to see the same client information in  user-table ?

Please feel free for any further help on this.

Hi colin,

You are right, the client is simply reassociating within milisec and not by user, device only sending the reassociation request.

How can I completely disconnect a user and force to reconnect.

Re: Client disconnect issue

Hi.

If you want to stop that Client to connect a specific SSID, create a "User Rule" by matching that Client MAC address and map a role where you can deny that client .Map the User Rule to the AAA profile.

For your ref:

To create a User Rule :

To map the user rule to a AAA profile :

Hope you got help on this.

Rana,

The device will always try to reconnect, as long as the wireless network is configured in the client's supplicant.  Disconnecting will force the client to reconnect, or reauthenticate on Captive Portal networks.  If it is a open network, a preshared key network or a 802.1x network,, the client will reconnect silently.  If it is captive portal, and you click on disconnect, the user will have to reauthenticate.

Re: Client disconnect issue

That means except captive portal No use of the disconnect button.

So at what stage the client will get disconnect Pre-auth / Post-auth Or in
both.

Re: Client disconnect issue

The client IS disconnected, just not permanently. You would have to blacklist the client to remove them from the system permanently. If the user of the device forgets the network, it will not try to reconnect.

What are you trying to do?

Re: Client disconnect issue

Rana,

If a user logs in using Captive Portal, it will force that user to login immediately to continue. That is the mist common use for this.
