Config management port on aruba 3600

    I need to configure the management port on my 3600 to have a assigned IP. Can some one shed some light?

    The management port on the 3600 is a serial interface, so it cannot have an ip address.

     

    You can assign a loopback address, but it is not tied to that physical port.

    correction. I need to assighn an ip to a port so I can manage the 3600 from a different subnet on my network

    You would then:

     

    - create a VLAN on the controller.  

    - Add an IP address to that VLAN.  

    - Add that VLAN to a port.

    - Make sure you can ping that ip address from your infrastructure.

     

    Remember that the controller can be managed from any ip address on any of its interfaces...
