Just noticed the WiFi calling configuratino profile available in ArubaOS 6.5 which asks for a DNS Pattern/Service Provider. Anypne got info on what we put in there for UK telecomms provider use?

You can look into the User Guide:

dns-pattern–Configure the DNS pattern for the carrier. A maximum of 10 DNS patterns
    can be configured.
DNS patterns for known carriers are configured by default. Default built-in patterns are:
    l SmarTone - epdg.epc.mnc006.mcc454.pub.3gppnetwork.org
    l T-mobile - ss.epdg.epc.mnc260.mcc310.pub.3gppnetwork.org
    l Sprint - primgw.vowifi2.spcsdns.net
    l Verizon - wo.vzwwo.com
    l 3 HK - wlan.three.com.hk
    l ATT - epdg.epc.att.net
If the ePDG FQDN of the carrier does not match with the default patterns, use this option to
configure the DNS pattern for the carrier.
service-provider–Add the service provider name for enhanced visibility.

The best way is to configure it by CLI.

    Cheers,

If your Provider is not listed, you have to ask them for Wifi Calling DNS Pattern.

Thanks for the reply, did find the manual entries, wondered if there were any UK specific entries. The prospect of trying to find EE/O2 etc contact details for someone who might answer the question doesn't fill me with much hope :-((

Was hoping for something specific for Vodaphone, EE and O2/GiffGaff

o.k. so EE "just works" on ArubaOS 6.4 and 6.5

    O2 doesn't on either :-(

Needless to say, all the help orientated web sites are for users and not for people wanting to configure  "the other end"

so if anyone has managed to get O2 WiFi calling working on ArubaOS6.5 could they let me know what they did please

    Not quite right

    O2 phone on 6.4 works

    O2 phone on 6.5 doesn't

As far as I can see , 6.4 doesn't have the voice wificalling ..... command whereas 6.5 does. So what does 6.4 do for wificalling that's different

So, By pure fluke, I can get it to work.

    on my iOS 10 iphone 6  O2 PTT ...

    ArubaOS 6.5

switch device into aeroplane mode and then switch wifi back on ..... and the WiFi calling indicator appears

disable aeroplane mode  .... wifi calling dissappears!

    ArubaOS 6.4

    just works

So ... in my office at work we jut configured an AP with the eduroam SSID connected to a controller running 6.4 ..... and my O2 phone doesn't automatically switch to wifi calling. .... which is the same as  when its bound to  ArubaOS 6.5

I know elsewhere runnig 6.4 it does work. So what's the difference ?

Current thought is that it depends on the phone and what sort of signal its got. Where my phone switched over to WiFi calling, i get ~3G ish. In my office I've 4G.

At least switching into airplane mode seems to work everywhere.

If anyone else is looking for these, a packet capture in the UK revealed the following EDGPs:

    O2 edgp.epc.mnc010.mcc234.pub.3gppnetwork.org

    ee edgp.epc.mnc030.mcc234.pub.3gppnetwork.org

Can't get O2 Wi-Fi calling to work on 6.4.2.16- Can see the phone and EDGP talking back and forth with ISAKMP, but then there is no response from the EDGP when the phone starts using ESP. It eventually tries a ping and says it is unreachable.
