    Hi experts,

Because some implementations I have to do, I want to confirm what kind of connectivity APs will need with the controller depending on the controller discovery method in use. I think is like this:

    - ADP: L2 connectivity
    - Statically configuring controller IP address: L2/L3 connectivity depending if the controller IP address is in the AP segment or not.
    - DHCP opt 43: L2/L3 connectivity depending if the controller IP address is in the AP segment or not. AP will need to reach the DHCP server.
    - DNS: L2/L3 connectivity depending if the controller IP address is in the AP segment or not. AP will need to reach the DNS server.

    Am I correct on this?

    Regards,
    Julián

In short yes. ADP will only work in a L2 boundary, the rest will work over L2 or L3.
