So there is this customer that would like to have their APs as CAP even after the factory restore.

From what I've seen, the "factory restore" is actually the firmware loaded on partition 1, and it has a flag indicating "Instant preserve":

    apboot> osinfo
    !!
    Partition 1:
        image type: 0
      machine type: 40
              size: 13106292
           version: 6.5.0.0-4.3.0.0
build string: ArubaOS version 6.5.0.0-4.3.0.0 for Hercules (p4build@rhodes) (gcc version 4.6.3 20120201 (prerelease) (Linaro GCC 4.6-2012.02) ) #56428 SMP Mon Sep 12 03:03:01 PDT 2016
             flags: Instant preserve
               oem: aruba
    !!

How do I proceed to edit this flag? The only solution I could come up with, is writing "partition 1" with a TFTP server, which is ok for 1 AP but not practial for many like in this case.

Is it possible to edit this flag from the CLI? Does anybody knows where is this stored?

    Thank you very much :)

unfortunately you will have to indeed use the TFTP method and overwrite the partition 1 manually in all APs if you want the CAP software to survive a reset.

I was really hoping for some weird and fun solution in full access mode. Thank you a lot.
