I am trying to get some reliable information dealing with a Dell W-651 controller working with Aruba RAP5';s and Aruba AP 125's.

Is the Dell 651 controller able to work with the Aruba products?

Otherwise can a Dell 651 controller terminate an Aruba PAR5/AP125 and be fully functional

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance

    It should work just fine...

I got  Aruba Controller with Alcatel APs working just fine

Also Alcatel controller with Aruba RAP2  working just fine(i use this setup for VBN demos which i leave the client like 2 or 3 weeks and they work just fine...)

So i dont see why this wont work with DELL controller i mean they are Aruba they just put DELL logo in it... and the same with Alcatel... they just put the alcatel logo in it...

The bad thing about having alcatel and dell is that the support blows... and they are always behind in firmwares...

I would advice you to get everything on aruba dont buy dell...

    Cheers

    Thanks for the info NightShade1,

I will be all Aruba once the install is complete but my work was to cheap to purchase me some extra equipment to play with so i purchased the dell 651 controller from eBay along with 2 Aruba RAP5NW and a AP 125.

I was looking into the licenses and was advised that the Dell controller takes its own licenses (cant use Aruba licenses) and was advised by the Dell tech that the RAP's and AP may not work.

So after searching all over the internet i decided to post here to see if anyone else was running this kind of setup..

    Thanks for the reply..

Okay let make some things clear

    You need Dell licesnse

    For example

You get a Dell 651 controller

And you need dell AP licesnse...

But you CAN use Aruba APs...  but you need DELLs license! to install on Dells Wireless controller

We need to have that clear...

    For example

In my 650 Alcatel Controller i do have Alcatel AP license, Alcate RF Protect licesnse and Alcatel PENFG License...

But im using Aruba  APS attached to it

Does this is more clear for you?

    Cheers

Ya im think i'm good with the licenses

    I plan to purchase 3 Ap licenses - 2 for RAP5's and 1 for Ap 125

I plan to purchase 3 PEF licenses

I plan to purchase 3 RFProtect licenses

I initially thought i could purchase Aruba licenses for the Dell controller but was advised no i needed Dell licenses by several places

    Reason for post was:

I was just worried that the Aruba RAP's and AP's would not work on the Dell controller and just wanted to make sure by asking around

    Thanks again

Yep but the license need to be dell ones...

    For your reference

Here is a link in which someone from Aruba confirm what you are asking
