    Hi there,

We are a schoolboard and I am the person on charge of the wifi infrastructure. We have an average of 3 thousands clients connected per day. We are allowing only one active session per user.

I was asked to assess the impact on the network (if we need to increase the number of access points, controllers and bandwidth) in case we increase the number of sessions per user to two or three.

My question is: Can we increase the session number per user to two or three in captive portal and what is the impact on the network?

    Best regards,

It's really an RF design question. Limiting sessions in the controller does not stop clients from consuming airtime.

    How dense is your deployment?
    What controllers do you have?

    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hi Tim,

Our environment is high density in secondary schools and capacity deployment in primary schools.

We have master-local environment with M3, Aruba 7210 and 3200 controllers and about 1200 APs model 105.

    ArubaOS version 6.3.1.7

    Regards,
