What is the difference between restricted and unrestricted mode POE ?

For AP225 which one we need to choose and what power level we need to configure in switch side if i use only one port in AP?

If we enable LACP then what is the power level we need to configure in switch side?

    #AP225

    Hi Friend,

    AP restricted mode means,

    1. Second Ethernet port disabled (can be either one),
    2. USB interface disabled,
    3. 2.4GHz radio in 1x3 mode (single transmit chain active),

In restricted mode AP consumes low power, AP 22X will consume 13.5 W

Where as unrestricted mode means, without above restrictions and it consumes little more power than restricted, AP 22X will consume 17.2 W and if any adder for USB: USB device power consumption + 40%

For selecting the POE device follow this table,

Hope got some clarity on this,

Please feel free for any further query on this.

So do we need to allow 17.2 W in both ports of the switch where AP connected for LACP ?

    Yes my friend,

But AP can only draw power from one of its uplinks , if that link(eth0) goes down, or the switch that link is connected to fails, AP 225 for providing PoE fallback, the AP can reboot and come back up using other port (eth1).

    Hope got some more clarity,
