    Hello Friends,

Do you know how we should position/install the AP-367 directional Access Point ? it's shape is similar to the Omni one; so where is the main Lobe situated? should we Wall-Mount it, looking to the side or looking to the ground?

    Thanks

For the AP-367 if you are wall mounting, it would mount facing out (bottom of the plastic radome facing in the direction you want coverage).

    Thank you Jerrod,

Do you have a deployment picture of 367 you can share with me?

    Thanks

Please include this information and the antenna patterns in the datasheets and installation guide.

That is a PLM descision, not mine :)

If you mount the AP367 horizontally will it be just as good as the picture of it vertically, what is the best way to mount it horizontally?

    Thank you.

If mounted horizontally, the signal will be directly below the AP, rather than to the side as when it's mounted vertically. Where do you need the signal to go?

I am mounting it on the flat roof of my building (about 60 ft up) and would like to project it onto the front of my building. I see on the spec sheet that you have listed the AP-270-MNT-V1 bracket for this unit, which extends out but the AP unit is mounted horizontally vs vertically. Which bracket is better in this situation?

From the pictures in this thead (particularly AP-36x-MNT-H2-1), the signal is directed from the side with the Aruba logo printed on it. So if you intend to hang the 367 over the side of the building horizontally (ie facing down), and the users you are getting coverage to are below the AP, then you should be fine.

The MNT-H1 is another option that provides an articulated joint so you can dial in an angle between horizontal and vertical, if your coverage need is not directly below your mounting location.

Is there a 2D antenna plot (combining both horizontal and vertical plots), a cross section view, so I can make a better determination as to which mount will work better for me?

Not the elevation plots, but the antenna coverage is described in the AP datasheet here: https://www.arubanetworks.com/assets/ds/DS_AP360Series.pdf

Just double checking, but if I need to mount an AP-36x flat against a wall (flush mount) and need to do a coverage from the wall out, would I use a AP-367, right?  And what would be the ideal height? Is it a 45 degree relationship? This is to cover an outside patio area.

    Here's a diagram.

If wall mounting, a 367 is generally what you would want to use, with the H1 or H2 bracket. If the coverage away from the building is not that far (say under 100m) then you can use the 365 with the V1 or V2, just note that using a 365 firing down may push some RF indoors which may or may not be problematic.

Thanks - any idea as to the approx height and distance ratio?

367 will easily go out 200m facing the AP, and about 35-50m to the side.
