    Hi All,

When ever I see the client count from the controller GUI: Dashboard --> Clients and the controller CLI: show user-table, there is always a difference.

Generally on GUI when it shows as 90 users, on CLI I see only 68 users.

Why is there such a significant difference when observed via these two interfaces?

Appears a limitation in Aruba that the wireless clients on bridge mode ssids and connected on Mesh points will not have their IP addresses reflected on controller.

In dashboard, we can see the listing of even the clients which have not even acquired the IP addresses, however in 'show user-table' we can see only those clients whose IP addresses are reflected. Hence there has been a mismatch between the client count from dash board and user table.

The dashboard has the station table which is devices who have and have not obtained ip addresses.  The user table is only users who have obtained an ip address.  Station table can contain devices that do not count towards the platform limit, because many of them are not even associated (they could be just trying to associate).  User table users have associated and are capable of passing traffic within the system.  Valid and authenticated users that pass traffic are included in the station table.  Only devices in the user table are capable of passing traffic.  Clients that successfully connect on a bridged SSID do show up in the user table.  If a device is in the station table, but not in the user table, the device has not connected.

    Thanks Joseph.

However my concern is for the Wireless clients who have been successful in getting IP addresses from Mesh Points through Bridge SSIDs and yet not showing up in 'show user-table'. These client are successful in putting their traffic on to the network.

For the clients in tunnel mode SSID and connecting on Mesh points, the client are successfully reflected in 'user-table'.

Clients who connect successfully on Bridge SSIDs should appear with ip addresses.  If you see a client there without an ip address, you should check your VLAN/Trunking to make sure it is correct.  Just to be sure, you should make the bridge virtual AP have VLAN 1 to pass untagged traffic, by default.
