    Hi,

To use the built in mail settings (Postfix), just configure the mail relay host in AMP Setup -> General -> Additional AMP Services box.

    Do some reading here:

    https://arubanetworkskb.secure.force.com/pkb/articles/FAQ/Configuring-mail-relay-host-in-Postfix

do a bit of reading also here:

    https://arubanetworkskb.secure.force.com/pkb/articles/Troubleshooting/Airwave-Error-with-postfix

    more info:

    http://community.arubanetworks.com/t5/AirWave/Alert-emails-not-working/td-p/72204

let's us know if it's helped u :smileywink:

Under AMP Setup> Network, do you have DNS configured?

You can alternatively go to AMP Setup> General> Additional AMP Services to setup your internal email server to point it to.

    Yes it is configured.

This box only asks you if you want to use embedded mail server. There is no SMTP setting to be added.

Looking at the error in your post above, it seems to say that the DNS server you are using does not have an MX or mail exchange record for sa.zain.com, the domain you are trying to send it to.  If you set up the mail.cf file correctly, it would not do a lookup, but just forward it to the host that you specified.

In the /etc/postfix/main.cf   file, you should have (1) put an ip address after the = for one of the relayhost statements and removed the # sign.  For example if the ip address for your relay host is 192.168.1.20, I would remove the # sign and enter the ip address.  I would save the file and then restart postfix:

    relayhost = 192.168.1.20

    Hi cjoseph,

I think I describe my problem in a wrong way. Let me start from beginning:

We've here an exchange server to handle our emails. An email account had been assign for the Airwave server to start sending daily report and alert.

My question here is how to configure Airwave to send emails through our exchange server??

I already done some searches on internet and done changes on /etc/postfix/main.cf file, but it still doesn't work.

Thanks in advance for your support.

It depends on how your exchange server is setup.  Airwave does not need an account, as long as the email it is sending is addressed to a person or group in your organization.

If you want to force it to use an account for authentication, I will have to let someone else answer how to set that up...
