Error on access point and controller goes down (Update Required)

    Hello everyone,

     

    I have a weird problem with one of my access points. When I connect the AP, our local controller goes down (we have 4 controller) and says Update Required.

    Also the AP stays down and I can not provision the AP.

    The following logs are logged:

    Does anybody have an idea what's wrong?

    When you say down, what do you mean? Is the controller completely unreachable from the network? Is there any logs on this controller? What kind of topology do you have? (any Master/Master Backup?)

     

    We'd need more information to progress this but my inital thoughts is that maybe there is an IP conflict? The new AP is using the same IP as the controller and the controller is going offline? I assume you are seeing the Update Required when you run the below on the master?

    Hello, we have a master/standby and 2 local controllers.

    The controller is unreachable for a few moments but stays in the 'down' state. unable to ping at first, then i can ping it but it stays down.

    During this time I cannot connect via ssh.

     

    this is the command show switches on the master controller

    Many thanks for the idea of a ip conflict. This seems to be the problem.

    We forgot to exclude the controller IP in the dhcp scope!
