    Hello,

I'm new to Aruba networks and i'm trying to figure out if I can use Aruba controller to generate the heat map, like the mobility controller 6000?

Like for planning or troubleshooting? Do I need to and Airwaves server to do those? I know Cisco need Prime infrastructure to do heat maps...

    Thanks,
    /S

For a predictive heat map, you can use our VisualRF softare found on the support site.  It's a free tool for predictive heat maps.

If the controller was below 6.3, we had this tool embedded within the controller.  However, our current recommendation is to use Airwave for real time heat mapping.

Thanks, I will try to find the visualrf software.

If the controller running code 6.3 above, the heatmap feature is gone? If so, why? I would need a airwaves server for heatmap?

It was removed to make room for other features like application visiblity and Airgroup...
