How can I delete a OS image?

Hello,
I am trying to upgrade to release ArubaOS_6xx_6.1.3.3_34156 and believe i have insufficient free flash in either partion -

Is it possible to delete the old OS image in Partion1 and then ftp the new image to this partition?

No, but according to the release notes, you can free up space by:
Remove all unnecessary saved files from flash by navigating to Maintenance > Delete Files
