I converted an IAP-275 from and instant AP to a mobility controller with all of my other APs (225s).  Now that I have it in the controller, it is flagged with 2I and I cannont seem to get the radios enabled on it.

On the commandline of the controller, type "show log system 50" to see if you can get a clue why the AP would not come up.

I am unable to get it to respond to ssh now that it is on the controller.

You should SSH into the controller to get that log..

Is there a firewall between that AP and the controller?

Is it in the same ap-group as other access points?

Yes it is but they are models AP-225.  This one is a AP-275.

You should reach out to TAC.  They will have to determine if this is a misconfiguration or a bug.

Thank you.  When we come to find out why I am having this issue I will post again so others will know if they are having the same issue what the resolution was.

Are you using a PoE+ switch or PoE+ injector? (802.3at)

If its on a PoE+ switch, is LLDP enabled on the switch?

Look at "show ap debug system-status | include POE" to see if the radios are disabled because of lack of PoE+

In Addition to what Arjan Suggested about checking the power, Could you also check the Country codes on both the devices?

    On the controller :

    # show country

    On the IAP :

    show country-codes

I checked country codes and both say US.  I enabled LLDP and got no change.

I tried another IAP-275 to make sure I didn't have a faulty device and got the same results.  So that leads me to believe I am doing something wrong.

Once I convert it to the mobility controller, I find it and select provision.

In the provision screen, I drop it in the right AP Group, then scroll to the bottom to rename the AP.  Unlike the AP-225, there are extra lines that I wonder if I need to add anything there.  Here is a screen shot of those extra lines:

Here is the W-AP225(I am having no issue with these)

So this turned out to be a power deficientcy.  I had to log into the cisco switch to adjust the power output.  The default power on the cisco switch is set to 15.4 watts and 23.5 watts is needed.  I adjusted the power to the max (30 watts) and it solved the issue.
