    Hi,

I have this requirement from a customer, not sure about how it can be achieved.

A guest is given a username and password, he can come in with "N" number of his own devices. Once he login with one of his device by captive-portal. Lets say that guest will be visiting the office for next 10 days, and his CP username & password has a same validity period of 10 days.

Once he login with an device by captive-portal, for the next 10 days, until his user-account expires, his device should be allowed by the mac-address itself. He should not be stopped by a captive-portal page for next 10days on that device.

    is this something practical?

    Regards,

Do you have ClearPass? You can achieve this with the MAC caching feature.

    Thank you for reply.

No, there is no clearpass. if clearpass can do it, it can be surely suggested to customer.

between, what is the minimum requirement to have a clearpass running?

ClearPass is your best bet for scalable guest management.

In terms of requirements, you can get either a dedicated, standalone appliance or virtual appliances for a vmware infrastructure.

You can accomplish this using the controller internal database and with ClearPass Guest :
