    as I'm new to aruba I was deploying Master-master standby and one local deployment everything went fine except one thing

     

    on the local controller I create Vlan 40 with IP 192.168.40.40 and I used it as teh controller IP and on all controllers I didn't create loobacks as I didn't understand in what may I need it and the strange thing is I type :

     

    on interface gig 1/1 I typed:

     

    switchport access vlan 40

    switch port mode access

     

    and on interface gig 1/2

     

    I typed :

     

    switchport mode trunk

     

    switch trunk allown VLAN all

     

    switch trunk vlan native 40

     

    now I connect nortel switch on each port in vlan 40 and my laptop in vlan 40 but it didn't ping at all it just a basic network config but t didn't ping

     

    notes:all ports are trusted.

     

    I used another Vlan for master local connectivity and it worked fine.

     

    now why it didn't ping which it just a normal setting?

    planner_plan,

     

    Make sure that the native vlan on the Nortel side is also 40.
