IAP-205 packet loss

Hi,

I bought an IAP-205 for our office and for WIFI (read: web browsing) access in general it works fine and the connection is stable. However, we have this gaming tradition on fridays where the office joins in for some fun. Since we got the IAP we've got quite big packet loss and the connection is quite unstable, unplayable at times. The issue is there when we do normal LAN gaming (not over the Internet) which leads me to believe it's something to do with the access point. It doesn't seem to matter if we're on 5 or 2.4 GHz, and connection protocol (n or ac) don't make a difference either. In the administration interface it says that all signals are strong and that there are no issues with the WIFI.

How can i debug this? Is there any idea or pointer as to what might be wrong?

Thanks a lot!

Re: IAP-205 packet loss

You have broadcast filter ARP enabled on your ssid?

Re: IAP-205 packet loss

I suppose so, "Broadcast filtering" is set to "ARP"

Re: IAP-205 packet loss

What version of Aruba Instant?

How many clients on that access point?

Re: IAP-205 packet loss

Can you do a constant ping to your default gateway?

How many SSIDs are there?

Re: IAP-205 packet loss

Do you mean SSIDs in general in the air where i am, or that the IAP has?

Re: IAP-205 packet loss

My SSID is "MP", and it's the only one the IAP provides

--- 192.168.0.1 ping statistics ---
912 packets transmitted, 912 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 1.246/4.174/361.904/16.395 ms

Re: IAP-205 packet loss

Are you having performance issues on that client right now?  Typically it is easy to show performance issues with dropped pings.
