IAP queries

    We are planning to deploy IAP 103- 7qty. Please help with below queries:-

     

    1) How many users can we create in internal database.

    2) We are using unmanagable switch, will this be a problem for IAP's to form a cluster.

    3) If there is some coverage hole, can i extend the signal using a repeater.

    Hi Mohan,

     

    IAP internal user DB will support upto 512 users Please make a note, IAP-9x supports only 256 user entries. If there are already 512 users, IAP-9x will not be able to join the cluster

     

    To form a cluster IAPs should be in the same broadcast domain hence it doesn't matter whether it is a manageable switch or unmanageable switch.

     

    Coverage holes all depends on your deployment . don't forget you have IAP mesh point option available.

    Hi Venu....thanks for your reply....we will be using wpa2/presahred key as authenticaiton. Currently we will not deploy IAP's in mesh mode...please confirm if we can use repeaters...

    HI Mohan,

     

    Yes we can connect an IAP to a third party bridge by configuring WiFi uplink.
