I have run into a problem with 2 new IMAC's. Neither one connects to the wireless network when the op-mode is set to mixed mode. We have in place wpa-tkip and wpa2-aes. I created another ssid profile that only uses wpa2-aes and the IMAC connects everytime. Our "main" ssid which has been in place for a long time is set for mixed mode.  Has anyone else run into this problem? The machines are running 10_6 and 10_6_8 and we have hunderds of APPLE devices running the same OS.

Are these 802.11n access points, on an 802.11n WLAN?  Remove TKIP and see if it works.

we have a combination of AP125's, AP70's, and AP65's. I created a new ssid configured for WPA2-AES only and the iMacs connect with no problem; however, our  "main" ssid is configured as mixed mode.

On the 802.11n access points, WPA-TKIP will not allow clients to connect, unfortunately, so if you can slowly change all your clients to do AES, this will work.

We are seeing the same issue with Handheld scanners.  They don't work on Mixed Mode.  We are only advertising the SSID on one AP, so it's not something with 11n access point.

There are a few devices that do not like mixed mode.   Legacy devices are more likely to suffer from tthis.  The second reason is devices on an 802.11n AP trying to do anything besides Open or AES.

You have a TAC case opened for this already, right?  They should determine which issue it is.
