Installing VisualRF Plan 7.5 - Installer UI Mode Error

I'm trying to install VisualRF Plan 7.5 on Windows 8 Enterprise x64 and I am receiving the following error:

 

"Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported"

 

Anyone else had this issue? 7.4 was working perfectly in Win 7 SP1 x64. Thanks!

I haven't seen this issue before.  Is this on a server/desktop/laptop?  Is your system able to install 32-bit apps?  The VisualRF Plan tool is a 32-bit application.

exactly the same issue for me.

 

Winows 8 Pro 64bit...

 

Did TAC get a resolution?

Not yet, I filed a bug for this.  It seems that Windows 8 doesn't allow the VisualRF Plan installer to progress.

To install it use windows 7 compatibility mode.... you will see it will work.

I got this installed on my winwdos 8 pro already

Hi guys,

 

got it going, mucked about with the install anywhere command line but that was useless.

 

The setup actually needs running in Windows XP SP 2 compantibility mode as an administrator.

 

Looks to be working fine now...

Good to know, I'll update the bug to input the workaround, but keeping the defect open to resolve it.  It shouldn't have to be installed in compatability mode.

Other thing to take note Rgin is that when you install it on windows 8 withcompatibilty mode i have to use the browser... it tells me use the url on the browser toconfigure... is not like the windows 8 that you dont need to do that.... just to let you know

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.  The future fix will most likely have it working as it did in win XP and win 7.

When does AMP 7.6.x release? will that include the 7.6.x version of VisualRF? and will there be support for Windows 8 RT(ARM) the touch-sensitive interface in the upcoming release? How nice would it be to use touch-screen style apps for the VisualRF Planner tool piece...
