Is there any significance to whether an ap has a 1969 or 1999 timestamp before it updates its time?

Curiosity really - why do some APs use Dec 31 1969, and others Dec 31 1999?

Is there any significance to that date, other than it is the date used by the AP until it updates its time from the controller?

    Thanks

    Thanks, much appreciated.

Excuse me prodding for a bit more, just a couple of queries (not very important, just for my understanding):

I'm assuming these times relate to Unix time, is that right? If so why 1999 - is that to do with the leap-second addition?

    And why aren't they displayed exactly as 00:00:00 1 Jan 1970 / 2000

    /geek on

Both are 1 second before an "epoch"

1 jan 1970 00:00:00 is the original epoch

1 jan 2000 00:00:00 is modified epoch that allows to quickly see which equipment will "survive" the unix time 2038 overflow.
