Layer 2 mobility
Layer 2 mobility
07-01-2016 03:48 AM
Hi all,
If a customer has layer 2 mobililty enabled, with 2 local controllers, both on the same VLAN, and a user associates with 1 of the controllers, does the other controller know about the association in case the user roams, or would it just be the local they associated to?
Thanks,
Jamie.

If layer 2 mobility is enabled on the controller the user is roaming to, that second controller will look at its' bridge table to see what VLAN to put the user in. You can see the bridge table on a controller by typing "show datapath bridge table"

This is very interesting Colin Joseph, I am reading about how to enable layer 2 mobility and I simply coundn't find anything !
Please, do you have a guide about how to do that, we have controllers that are connected across layer 2 yet still layer 2 mobility doesn't work in our envirnment.
Appreciate your answer.
