    Dear All,

    I'm a bit confused here...

According to the datasheet, my 3200 controller can support a max of 32 campus APs, or 128 remote APs.

My show licence-usage looks like this:

    (Aruba3200) #show license-usage ap

    Total AP Licenses : 128
    Remote-Node AP Licenses Used : 0
    AP Licenses Used : 21
Tunneled Node Licenses Used : 0
    Unused AP Licenses : 107
    Licenses used for Campus AP's : 21
    Available Campus AP's : 0
    Licenses used for Remote AP's : 0
    Available Remote AP's : 0
Total Ortronics AP Licenses : 0
Ortronics AP Licenses Used : 0
    Total Indoor Mesh AP's Supported : 128
    Indoor Mesh AP's Active : 0
    Total Outdoor Mesh AP's supported	: 128
    Outdoor Mesh AP's Active : 0

Now, how do I know from this, that my max is 32? I don't plan to deploy remote APs.

    Thanks!

    Tamas

Use "show keys" to see how many APs you are licensed for.

    Tamas,

Your AP count is limited to 22 because of the PEF-NG license count of 22. In order to add more campus APs to the controller, you would need to add 10 PEFNG license

Here is my 3200 controller which brings up one AP but another AP shows up with "IL" flag since I have only 1 PEF-NG license.

The term "campus access point" confuses me.  What is a campus access point?   I am trying to figure out if this is the controller I need for 200 AP's.   Can it  only take 32?

Campus AP means it is not a Remote AP (on older code)

Yes, the 3200 can only support 32 Campus APs (CAPs). A CAP is an access point that is connected over a LAN and doesn?t encrypt data between the AP and the controller (usually). A Remote AP (RAP) is usually connected over an untrusted network, such as the Internet, and encrypts all data between the AP and controller.

If you need 200 CAPs, you will need a 7210 (up to 512 CAP support).
