Wireless Access

I tried to use a standard Linksys PoE injector to power up an AP-135. They work well with the AP-65. I got a green light but nothing would happen. I don't know if something is wrong with the injector but wanted to see if there is a different power requirements  for the AP-135 that requires a different kind of injector.

Does the AP-135 require a PoE+ (802.3at) complient injector?

Is it underpowered with a PoE (802.3af) complient injector?

It does not require a POE+ injector, but some lower-cost POE injectors do not put out the required amount of power at distance....

The AP-135 installation guide says it is 802.3at complient but says nothing about 802.3af.

This has me confused and feeling unsure about the power requirements. Is there a reason it is documented in this manner?

I do not know about the documentation, but I know that power drops the longer the cable gets.  For enterprise manufacturers, they can be expected to provide full power over 300 feet.  For other non-enterprise manufacturer this is not the case.  I would just get a POE+ injector.  Either way, the combination of a consumer-grade 802.3af power injector and the AP-135 are not a good fit.
