Re: Local redudancy configuration

Hi,

Yes, as a best practice first we have to configyre VRRP between locals then bring up the master local .

By the way there are many other thisngs we need to take care such as,

1. LMS and backup LMS.

2. Load balancing

3. Centralised licensing ( AOS 6.3 and above)

4. Centralised Image management ( AOS 6.3 and above)

5. Fast fail over ( AOS 6.3 and above)

6. L2 configuration

Hope you got clarity , please feel free to comeback for any further assistance on this.

Cheers,

Venu Puduchery.

Re: Local redudancy configuration

i have configured VRRP betwen the 2 local controllers, but when i try to configure it as local i get:

'Error: Master switch redundancy is configured'

so i need to configure each local controller with licences?

Re: Local redudancy configuration

Hi Friend,

Please fallow the below steps,

1. Configure VRRP between M1 and M2

2. Bring up Master standby between M1 and M2 over the configured VRRP

3. Configure VRRP between L1 and L2

4. Configure Master Local setup with both the locals i.e

In master,

 (config) #localip < L1 physical IP> ipsec < PSK>

 (config) #localip < L2 physical IP> ipsec < PSK>

In local, L1

(config) #masterip < VRRP IP of M1 and M2> ipsec < PSK>

In local L2

(config) #masterip < VRRP IP of M1 and M2> ipsec < PSK>

here, the purpose of local redundancy is to provide redundancy for the LMS fro APs,

I hope you got some clarity,

Please feel free to comeback for any further assistance on this.

Cheers,
Venu Puduchery,
