    Hi Guys

We are having a constant issue with our user on laptops.

They plug their laptops into docking stations which connects them to the wired LAN and do there business as normal.

When they undock from the station the Wireless takes over and stays conencted but they seem to lose all windows authentications e.g. they can still ping our servers but the mapped drives can no longer be accessed and all of our web servers seem to be blocked.

If they log out of there pc's while they are on the wireless and not on the wired and log back in then all is fine. Currently our internal network wireless is authenticated through a MS 2008 R2 Radius server and the controller we use is the Aruba 7210 Mobility controller. The AP are Aruba AP-115's

Any ideas why this is happening and how we can resolve this?

    Thanks

Can you reboot 100% on wireless and this works?  Is the user role on wireless blocking any traffic?

Yes if the laptop is restarted or booted while not connected to wired it will authenticate and conect to the wireless and all will work fine.

    Cheers

Because the user is logged in when they move to wireless, they don't have a machine credential cached on the controller.

Your options would be to disable enforce machine authentication, change the default role to an authenticated role, or move to a policy engine like ClearPass for advanced policy enforcement.

    Thanks,

Thanks I have made the changes I turned off Enforce machine authentications and also Swithed the Role to Authetnicated.

I will do some testing and get back to you.

    Thanks

What role are your users in on the controller? Are there any restrictions configured in that role?

    Thanks,
    Tim

The User Role for these users on the controller is LOGON.

    Thanks

That is why. You need to have them in a full access role like authenticated. Are you using the controller to enforce machine authentication?

    Thanks,
