Lost Packages with AP105

Hi everyone , we have an issue with AP 105, I upgrade the controller version to the lastest one (6.1.3.0) , after that the navigation turns quite  slow than before in 2.4 GHz band, we have a 30Mb  of  Bandwith and after that change i have only 5Mb and I  have lost packages from the client  to the controller and to the internet (ping)

Do you know any workaround about this?

Regards

Let me get the preliminary questions out of the way:

- How many users are on this wireless network?

- What kind of access points are they?

- What kind of clients?

- Are the wired and wireless users in the same subnet?

Cjoseph...

  • We have 1600 average connected users
  • We are using  AP 105 (70 AP currently)
  • Clients with Windows, Mac, iPhones, iPads, Androids, Blackberrys. (more users in "g HT" and  in "g")
  • And the wire are not the same network  as the wireless.

Re: Lost Packages with AP105

Thank you.

Since all those devices are sharing the same internet connection with wired devices, what kind of performance is expected, usually?

Re: Lost Packages with AP105

You should not expect that if all those clients are simultaneously trying to access the internet.  Wireless is also half duplex and subject to alot of contention, so throughput will vary considerably.  Have you tried with a 5ghz client?

Re: Lost Packages with AP105

Do you have band steering enabled in the Virtual AP profile?

Do you have "Fair Access" enabled in the QOS profile?

Are you dropping broadcasts and multicast in the Virtual AP profile?

Re: Lost Packages with AP105

yes i have band steering  enable prefered 5GHz , also it is confugure to drop broadcast and multicast un VAP profile,

And i miss configure "Fair Access" in QoS profile, I already did it , so i´ll be monitoring the behavior of the wireless

Re: Lost Packages with AP105

You need band steering and drop broadcasts in all VAPs in the AP group for it to work.  You could have interference on a level that might still limit how much you can do.
