    Hi All,

We are observing Differences in the Memory on our 3400 Cotroller.

One of the Box is 691Mb whereas on the other we see 1.5Gb.

Please check with the Show Inventory / Show Switchinfo and Show Version details of both our Controllers.

Let's use this thread for the memory disparity, the other can be used to do a quick check of the in use memory (which i suspect is fine)

The issue here is no so much about free memory, rather that the two controllers have different installed totoal memory sizes, they are in fact using about the same amount of memory (~ 600M)

    Primary

Memory (Kb): total: 691780, used: 632676, free: 59104

Processor XLR 516 (revision C4) with 1187M bytes of memory.

    Secondary

Memory (Kb): total: 1502772, used: 618988, free: 883784

Processor XLR 516 (revision C4) with 1979M bytes of memory.

I strongly suspect this is a case of due to parts availability/cost associated with older parts where manufacturing is giving away free/extra memory in because it's cheaper than the old memory parts.

I will find out some more info and update.

    regards

    Hi Jeff,

Thanks for info shared, Both are controller(s) are using almost same Memory, however seeing both the Controllers with different Memory is somthing which are considering.

FYI, we have purchased both the Controller(s) at the same instance (approx 2 years ago). We have moved all the AP's to the Secondary Controller(s) which is acting as Local and seeing better usage stats from our Airwave. Please check with the attachment.

hey Jeff, did you ever get to the bottom of this? or was in handled of board?

    Hi MVP,

We have opened a Case with the TAC team and got the Older Controller (Low Memory) replaced .

This surprises me. There is no recourse for claiming an rma on this. It's a freebie memory upgrade by Aruba due to cost of the older memory DIMMS.

    Regards
