    Hi,

We are deploying a standard Enterprise wireless network using 7220 ArubaOS 8.1.0 cluster with 307 and 207 series Aps.

We will be broadcasting a Corp SSID and Guest SSID with 2.4 and 5Ghz.

We will be sharing a few floors in a greenfield building with another Enterprise with their own Aruba Wireless network, possibly with the same Ap/controller setup that we have.

What issues should we look out for regarding placement of the APs, power, channel selection, rouge detection and other settings ?

Is there any documentation on this ?

We will be discussing this with the other wireless team and so hopefully we can both work together to make it all work well.

    thanks for your help.

If you´re both on Aruba OS 8 perhaps multizone could be something for you? handing a couple of SSID:s over to them/you and use your APs as a common infrastructure and RF enfironment for both companies.

If you both still want to deploy your own APs co-located I´d identify all the APs that are co-located and assign half the 5ghz band 20mhz channels to you and the other half for the other company and you can a strict separation spectrum wise.

    Cheers,

Could you advice on the placement of the APs from both enterprises or a procedure for finding the best spots ?

I would suspect the independent site surveys from both parties will recomend the same positions.

    Hi!

Not necessarily, doing a good predictive survey is very much based on the input of information you give. That company would need to know client density in the different areas, roaming requrements and a good set of floor plans with information about the wall materials etc.

If you want to share infrastructure you´d probably do best by merging your demands and contact a good Aruba partner to make a predictive survey for you with all the information available.

    Cheers,

    Thanks for your reply.

We are doing our own predictive survey already and the other party are using an Aruba Partner who will be doing their own survey.

We have yet to meet with them to discuss this formally.

Ok, make sure to bring some cake or something to the meeting and I´m sure you can merge your knowledge together and create an awesome RF design ;)

    Cheers,
