    Hey All,

Im looking to deploy a RAP 109 at an event but only have it broadcast the SSID in a small area of the event.

Right now, at the default setting, i can connect to the RAP from quite far away. Is there a way for me to lower the RSSI / signal strength on this RAP so that people in say, a 10 meter radius can pick up the SSID?

    Any help much appreciated !

    Cheers

Within the RF profile you will want to lower the ARM max transmit power to something low like 3 or 6dB and lower the min to whatever the lowest is. Make sure you either create a low power RF profile or do an ap-specific setting change so that you don't affect any other APs that might be using the same profile.

    Hey Jerrod,

    Many thanks for getting back.

I have placed the AP into an AP specific configuration, im just having trouble finding where exactly to make that change to the max arm transmit power.

Im possibly looking in the wrong place?

Ive attached screenshots of what im looking at

    Appreciate the help!

    Chewbacca,

When you create a new Radio Profile, you need to also create a new ARM profile under that.  The ARM profile is what determines the max and minimum power for an AP:

Ok, i think i made a slight mistake.

I added a new RF profile but it appears in one of the main AP groups.

How do i delete this and then create it as a completely independant RF profile?

Apologies in the confusion, im kinda new to confuring Aruba equipment.

    Thanks

    Chewbacca,

You should use "save as" to create a new Radio or ARM profile based on the previous profile.
