I configured our Aruba 7210 controller to work with a RAP and converted the RAP-3WNP to an ap on campus for testing puroses. Now I want to use the samen RAP to work on an remote site over commercial internet. The firewall and public ip (pointing to the moblity controller), is configured, but I'm struggeling with the RAP.

How can I reset the RAP, cause no reset hole is present in this RAP type.

The RAP is visible and provisioned on our controller, but I cannot access to RAP webpage anymore to dive into the maintenance menu and convert to a mobile remote RAP.

I don't have one in front of me to check, but isn't there a small reset "hole" on the bottom side of this RAP? I was pretty sure the last one I saw had one.

Reset button is located under the bracket to mount the RAP.

My RAP is up through an external internet connection and visible in the mobility controller.

Problem I'm having now, is I don't got an ethernet link.

It seems like I don't receive a IP adress, any ideas?

    Absolutely.

The wired port is not enabled by default (and that's a good thing security wise).

Have you configured it to do anything?

Hint: You're likely to need a "ap wired-ap-profile" and "ap wired-port-profile" config/setup to achieve something meaningful.

    Wired ports not yet configured.

Is it documented in the RAP user guide?

If you let us know what you want that port to do in your perfect world, I'll try to respond with a CLI script?

    You could...

    1. Have the port bridge users onto the switch/router connected to the RAP

    2. Tunnel users to the controller (break out onto a VLAN like with normal wireless).

    3. Put the wired user in a firewall role.

    4. do dot1x on the wired port.

    5. Split tunnel traffic.

    What do you need?
