    Hi,

I am newbie to Aruba Wirless, I am currently using AP105 with wireless controller 3600, I am looking for more access point in my infrastructure where as AP105 is bit expensive for me, I am looking into other AP's such as AP93 & AP68 which is bit cheaper and reliable, I wanted to get clarifiy on these things as am not having much knowledge on Aruba Wirelss. Kindly help in this regards.

!) Is AP 93 & AP68 are copmitable with Wireless controller of Family 3600

    2) If not, are there any other AP's which is cheaper and reliable with Wirelss Controller 3600.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Regards,

    Sanjay J.

    Hi,

    :smileywink:

It's more your ArubaOS version that you have on your 3600controller.

you controller ---> 3600 can be updated up to the newest version - so its capable to support all aruba ap's :smileytongue:

Please take a look in the following AP matrix:

    http://www.arubanetworks.com/pdf/products/MAT_AP.pdf
In the last page of this PDF you will find the Minimum ArubaOS version needed for each Aruba AP

    have a great night.

IF you pre 5.0 AOS there is a license change.

IF you are post 5.0 - there is no license change at all.

    IN ArubaOS 5.0

    • MAP was merged into base ArubaOS
    • VPN was merged into base ArubaOS
    • RAP was merged into AP license
    • PEF (user basis) was converted to PEFNG (AP basis) with ArubaOS 5.0

The AP68 is a single-stream access point and your users would not be able to associate at more than 65mbps association rate.  That of course is barely more than 802.11a/g.....  I would choose the AP93 at minimum if you want any more than two to three users associated to an access point.
