I have an access point that failed I ran the following command from the cli clear gap-db ap-name xxx and was able to replace the AP using the same name. However it stills hsows as a down AP on the Mobility Master. How do I clear this?

You should clear it using the wired mac address instead:

"show ap database long" will give you the wired mac

Thanks that worked. No way to do this from the GUI?

Is it possible to delete a down AP from the GUI?

It was possible on the 6.5.x code, not sure how in the 8.x GUI.

    Please advise.

Per the comment above yours, the only option is through the CLI today.

That's one of many drawbacks in the GUI.  My two cents: the 8.2x GUI is unusable, and yet it's no picnic using the CLI either. I feel like there's no good option for configuring/troubleshooting the Aruba Controllers.  That's the only thing I don't like my Aruba wireless equipment.

Please be specific about the GUI being unusable so that others can chime in and we can understand what needs to be improved.

You mention that there is no good option for troubleshooting the Controllers.  Please be specific.

Acknowledged that much detailed information is only available in the CLI.

Note in later versions of the MM (8.3 and beyond I believe), down APs can be deleted from the WMS DB within the GUI. See screenshot

I deleted an offline AP today in 8.4.0.1 webUI, it was easy and worked.

    Hey Jerrod,

What version are you running in that screenshot? I'm on 8.3.0.4 and I have a different look, and also don't have this option.

    Thanks,

    Rob

I believe the gui removal was added in 8.4 train.  I never saw it on any of the 8.3 versions.

Using 8.3.0.8, I don't see it as an option

(I believe previously, removal was done thru the Maintenance page... don't see that page now).

does this need to be done on the MM or on the specific controller that it was attached to?   I tried to remove one that shows a  status of denied and it did not remove it (on the MM is where I issued the clear command).

If the access point is still physically trying to connect and is still denied, it will reappear in the database.

for my 8.3.0.7 there was no GUI

from the shell of the Aruba MM after determining the wired ap I ran

    "clear gap-db wired-mac 90:4c:81:c6:dd:24"

    no quotes

Hi, i have 2 Controllers and Mobility Master (8.3.0.7). Access Points that previously installed as remote AP in Controller A are now installed as Campus AP in Controller B. When i tried 'show ap database long' in Controller A they're down. When i tried to delete it from Controller A, it didn't work. i can see those Access Points from Controller A. i want to delete those access points from Controller A Database.

    Thanks
