We currently have old controllers, 200s, 800s, etc., that we will be replacing with 650s.  We are pointing the replacement controllers to a new master that will be on the most current code 6.1.3.1.  We have mixture of APs ranging from AP61s, AP70s, AP105s, AP125s, and AP124s.  My question is, will all APs be able to go from 3.3.3.2 to 6.1.3.1 code?  If not, which APs are not capable of such?

    Thanks.

You need to do an interium upgrade to the latest 5.x before going to 6.1.3.1  All of those aps are supported...

I will be replacing the controller, I can have the new replacement controller on the newest code.  Are you saying that none of the APs can directly to 6.1.3.1 from 3.3.3.2?

If that's true, I will need to have the new replacement controller on latest 5.x code, then upgrade to 6.1.3.1?

Correct. All of the legacy access points need to upgrade to the latest 5.x before they can boot to 6.x

Ok, which are the APs that cannot upgrade directly to 6.1.3.1?  I'm guessing the AP-61s and AP70s? If we upgrade the legacy APs, we can directly go to 6.1.3.1 correct?

    60, 61, 70, 124/125 all must upgrade to 5.0.4.x first.

Before I say yes, what other APs are in your environment?

    EDIT:

PLEASE CONSULT THE RELEASE NOTES FOR 6.1.3.1 which has detailed information about your upgrade paath.

I've contacted TAC and they have stated that we just need to go to the latest 3.x code before going to the latest 6.x code.  This contradicts the info on this post.  Who is correct?

Please follow the release notes, which is the most conservative approach.  Maybe support had a reason to tell you what they did specific to your situation, but the release notes are the most conservative and apply to the majority of situations.
