    Dear Expects,

In our case, VRRP(without preempt) is running between a Master and a Local. Master is the standby VRRP and Local is the active VRRP. When the Local fails, the AP failovers to the Master. If the Local resumes, how to make it take over the VRRP. We tried to shutdown the VRRP on the master but this requires a reboot. Any recommandation?

    Thanks,

    Sam

    Hi,

The requirement seems like you want preemption to work even when the preempt knob is disabled ??

    Thanks,

    Dear Rajaguru,

When the Local fails, we don't want the AP to jump between the Master and the Local. We want to leave the AP in the Master. Until we confirm the Local is good, we will arrange a change window to move the AP back. Is there any way for the Lcoal to take over the VRRP without rebooting the Master?

    Thanks,

    Sam

    Hi Sam,

    1. Changing the VRRP role without shutting the VRRP instance on Master is not possible in this scenario.

    2. If you can point the LMS / Backup-LMS IP to the actual interface IP address instead of the VRRP IP, then you can failover the APs between the controller by changing the LMS / Backup-LMP IP address.

    Thanks,
