I have problem with same windows mobile device connect to different SSID has different speed with same Aruba AP. Example: SSID A is authenticate through 802.1x with Microsoft NPS and SSID B is authenticate through WAP2.

For SSID A, most of the device to connect to it was on "Client PHY a" with speed of 54Mbps. But when connect to SSID B "Client PHY is n 40Mhz" with the speed of 300MB, it was from same location.

I did try to connect it to SSID A with the windows mobile device without join the domain the speed is 300 Mbps and "Client PHY is n 40MHz".

Please advise. what is the problem as above?

What are the data rates configured for each SSID? These can be set on a per SSID basis.

    #show wlan SSID profile XXXX

For SSID A data rate is 270 mbps or above and SSID B is 54 Mbps or below.

If you are using WEP or anything with TKIP, the fastest speed is 54.

Changing encryption from wpa/wpa2 tkip to wpa2 aes resolved my issue.
