    Hi,

our customer is asking to broadcast the wireless network only in some times of the day.

Is it possible to do this kind of configuration on the Aruba Controller with the latest OS version?

    Thanks!

    Kind regards.

You can deny associations during certain times.

If you want to actually disable the SSID, you would need to schedule configuration changes using AirWave.

    Thanks Cappalli for your reply.

We don't have Airwave, so we have to find a solution on the controller.

How do you deny association during certain time?

I'm mainly searching a solution to disassociate the connected clients at certain times.

    Kind regards.

    And how is this achieved?

SimonJR, there is (currently?) nothing formal for this, you need to write a script, use an API etc., below is a thread discussing it for release 8. For release 6.x you would only (more or less) have the script option.

    https://community.arubanetworks.com/t5/Wireless-Access/Enable-Disable-SSID-Programmatically-via-Aruba-OS8-API/td-p/314800

You can also find some projects in github where people have already put some wrappers around the Aruba 8.x API, search "aruba 8.x api github" in Google.

    SimonJR,

You can use the deny time-range parameter in the Virtual AP to decide when users can and cannot connect to an SSID.

    https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_64x_WebHelp/Web_Help_Index.htm#ArubaFrameStyles/VirtualAPs/Virtual_AP_Profiles.htm?Highlight=virtual-ap%20deny%20time%20range

The SSID will continue to be broadcast, however.

You can not hide the SSID, but you can set a time-specific limit.

If you are using 6.x OS, you can set it in security -> access control -> time range.

I hope it will be of help.

    Thank you.

i have looked at the time range settings as mentioned and this appears to be a generic time setting for all progiles and not individual SSID, unless im missing something...........

You can create user defined time profiles.
They are assigned per virtual AP.
