Sporadic wireless client disconnects

We have been having sporadic client disconnects for months and are looking to see if anyone else with a similar configuration is experiencing similar issues.  Aruba TAC is aware of this issue and has escalated it.  Outages generally occur for just a few seconds.  The client sends a probe request, the AP appears to respond with a deauth a few seconds later, and the client roams either to another AP or another channel on the same AP.

    Our  Setup

    7240 controller running version 6.5.3.3

Each branch location has the following

    2x205s - ap mode

    1x105 - monitor mode

    Bridge mode

    802.1X with Radius authentication

    WPA2-AES w/Certificates

Mix of versions of iPads and iPad Minis and iPhones

Can replicate the issue on 5th Gen iPads (latest)

    OKC enabled

802.11K enabled  (Same behavior when disabled)

802.11r enabled (Same behavior when disabled)

    Band steering - disabled

A few locations only have a 105 in AP mode and we experience the same behavior there.

The three questions I have for the community...

Is anyone else running a similar setup and not seeing disconnects?  Is anyone else running a similar setup and seeing the same disconnects?

Has anyone else found a fix for similar issues that they would like to share?

sounds like client match trying to force clients to another AP it sees as better. havw you tried adding the client MAC to the client match unsupported list? I've had to do this with iPads that had issues like this too.

in addition, don't know when you got to 6.5.3.3, but when you crossed from below 6.5.2.0 the EIRP calculation changes to be more accurate. previously, if you were running at a 15dB for example, it was actually closer to 18dB. So if you upgraded, you may actually have worse coverage than before and could try increasing by 3dB both min and max tx power.

Thanks for the reply Michael.  We actually have client-match disabled currently.  That was one of the steps taken in the troubleshooting process with TAC.  We modified the radio power to the following a few months back and that hasn't fixed the issue either.

    A Radio ARM profile

    max-tx-power 12

    min-tx-power 9

    G Radio ARM profile

    max-tx-power 9
    min-tx-power 6

Do you still have a TAC case open?  If yes, what is the ticket number?

According to the tac engineer, a bug has been filled with engineering.

I will allow others in the community comment on if they have similar setups.
