    Hi all,

I have followed the instructions in the VRD for Indoor 802.11n to use an Instant AP-105 for site surveys. The pdf file is here http://www.arubanetworks.com/wp-content/uploads/Indoor80211n_2012-05-31.pdf

What would be the recommended way to power the POE midspan? There isn't anything mentioned in the VRD about power. Would a UPS be the best option? I am going to build a survey cart and want it to be self contained, so I don't have to plug anything into power sockets whilst in a building.

    Thanks

    Hi Nightshade,

Thanks for the info, are you saying I wouldn't need a UPS or mid span injector if I bought a tekkeon? How would the AP-105 stay up without rebooting if there weren't any cables connected?

Which tekkeon model works best with the instant? Does one of the tips that come with the tekkeon fit the AP-105 or do you have to order them?

Any info you can give me would be greatly received

    Thanks

    Maguire

Have you considered one of the below? This is what we use for site surveys. Basically a rechargeable battery pack which supplies Poe. We use them with 105, 124 etc

It's not too big, weighs a few kilos however ;) but generally can last all day for surveying

We also use the terrawave batteries for our surveys.   They are super convenient and provide a full days worth of power.

I second the Tekkeon. Works great for us so far.
