Folks, I am looking at a solution for a typical 6 users office Wireless solution. We are planning to get in an IAP-225 and if needed connect another IAP-225 to that. Will this work with only one IAP acting as the controller? What licensing would I need on the IAP-225? I also understand that an AP-225 cannot be used with an IAP-225, where the IAP-225 is the controller. Can I use a AP-225 as a standalone AP and use it as a controller? Thanks. N.

    Hi,

Yes you can bring up a Cluster with multiple IAPs and one of those IAPs will work as a controller and you can extend your network by adding more IAPs.

You can not terminate AP on an IAP, we can not configure IAP as a stand alone controller to manage APs. IAP will communicate with another IAP and form a cluster.

Hope you got some clarity on this, please feel free for any further clarity o this.

No licensing is required for IAPs - full functionality is license-free.
